vaderburg Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Make sure the new mods.json.original isn't set to read-only because mine was by default and that was breaking it.

Open notepad click file - save as - mods.json.original and save it to the vortex folder it was pointing at. It hasn't done anything with the file, it apparently just needed it there for a safety blanket or that one teddy bear your kids cling to when they are young so to speak. other than that i see no reason for the file? I can confirm this does in fact work. Name a file mods.json.original and place it at the location Vortex shows the error for. Make sure that the file itself is mods.json.original, and not mods.json.original.txt. Newer versions of windows turns off viewing the file extension by default, you'll need to enable this, and then literally change the file extension to .original and that should fix it. The file itself is unusable in this state, but that doesn't really matter as long as there is something in that location with that specific name.
